who we are

Established with the purpose to provide accessible support to children, adolescents and families, Professional Care Services is a boutique service that sets the benchmark for centre-based, short-term accomodation.

Through acknowledging, respecting and recognising the differences in all individuals who access our service, we have created a unique program that incorporates respite, support and community engagement.

During their time at PCS, participants are provided with 1:1 staff support that sees them partaking in age appropriate and skill building activities that relate to their individual, personal goals. We endeavour to provide opportunities for our clients to become the best version of themselves while cultivating meaningful relationships with peers and staff.

Professional Care Services also provide an opportunity for carers and families to recharge and relax with the knowledge that their loved one is being supported, nurtured and cared for in a home designed for comfort

Samantha Dunn

With over twenty years experience working across the disability sector, Sam has worked in numerous leadership roles in schools, group homes and day programs. Since 1995, where she began her career in an autism-specific work service, Samantha’s passion and dedication in providing personalised support for children and young adults living with a disability has continued to grow.

It was in these various roles Samantha noticed that many respite houses lacked the warmth of a home and instead delivered a beige and often rudimentary program that focussed on beds being filled. Furthermore, Samantha often experienced staff that were inexperienced and who lacked the drive and motivation to provide a personalised approach that nurtured their clients to work towards achieving their goals.

Professional Care Services was born from a desire to ensure that when parents and families made the choice to access respite, they knew their child was being cared for by staff that were passionate about being the difference in a ‘home away from home’.

Sam now uses her experience, education, qualifications and twenty years of industry expertise to provide families with respite, in every sense of the word, whilst supporting the clients to develop their skills in the home and community.
